Forty days after being married, a woman in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, is reportedly seeking for divorce from her husband, citing the improper bathing habits of husband as the cause.
This latest example has astonished many. She says he only takes a bath once or twice a month, which leaves his body smelling bad.
The woman went to the Agra family counseling center and said she couldn't live with someone who was that unhygienic.
In response to inquiries from authorities, the spouse disclosed that he usually takes a bath only once or twice a month and cleanses with Gangajal, or water from the Ganga River, once a week. In their brief marriage, he took six baths, defying his wife's insistence.
Soon after their marriage got over, the newly married couple started having some of the violent disagreements, which mainly caused the woman to return to her parents' house immediately after the marriage.
Soon after that, her family filed and registered a divorce request and as well as a dowry harassment complaint in the local police station.
